About off Road NSW

WHAT IS OFF ROAD RACING?

Off Road Racing is a motor sport discipline where various classes of specially modified vehicles (including cars, trucks and buggies) compete in races through off road environments.
Off Road Racing in Australia is conducted under the guidelines of Confederation of Australian Motor Sport (CAMS)
The courses and tracks used are often narrow, twisting, tree lined tracks, undulating farmland tracks, mountain tracks and river crossings, sometimes incorporating man made jumps and other obstacles.
Off Road Racing is an exciting and adrenaline filled discipline of motor sport and is growing in statue with an increasing number of competitors looking to take up the challenge.
Off Road vehicles are some of the most impressively engineering in Australian Motor Sport and most incorporate complex, long travel suspension systems and powerful engines to enable them to negotiate the rugged, dusty and sometimes muddy terrain they encounter as fast as possible.
Off Road Racing provides everything from introductory events for beginners right up to National level competition for the more seasoned off road veterans.  It provides a great atmosphere and a sense of family and community, where you can meet new friends who share the love of an exciting motor sport.  Many of the crews comprise, husband and wife, father and son, father and daughter combinations.  There are even a few families where three generations are currently competing.
There are a number of different classes of competition with vehicles ranging from purpose built buggies with engines up to 6000cc to modified 4WD vehicles.  Except for some single seat vehicles, the vehicles crew consists of a driver and navigator.  The endurance aspect of the racing makes each course a test of driver skill and mechanical preparation.
